Tried this pants before with a t-shirt that had a design on it but it looked too overwhelming. My advice this time will be to use a tight shirt underneath if you want to use a coat. That if your pants are loose.

Personally I prefer not to wear belts if they aren't necesarry, (yet I use them with most outfits) specially if it completes itself. Wearing black anythings is almost essential. There is a time of the year in the one I feel like just going back to school and using uniform in order to not think about what to wear (because I make a big time mess all the time). Well that uniform is a black t-shirt, blouse or tank top and a pair of jeans. A friend of mine does the same I think but her style is a white t-shirt with leggings. So black and white shirts are a MUST.

And hey another thing, this pants are a thrift find! Which I had arranged to fit my body. I want to please ask you to know who you are sending your stuff because this precious pants almost got ruined (they were High waisted) and the same people ruined a Banana republic black skirt that I adored. If you can fix them yourself is always for the best.
